SOLIDWORKS PDM Duplicate File Name Report

This guide will cover adding and using the SOLIDWORKS PDM duplicate file name report. You can download the file here. SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional comes with a tool called Report Generator, an SQL query embedded in a PDM format (.crp).

To access the Report Generator, from your local vault view, go to Tools > Report Generator.

Go to File > Import and browse to the file you downloaded from above.

Select the users you would like to allow to use the query and hit OK.

Checkmark the query, select the correct vault from the droplist and then hit the play button.

The list of all duplicate files will be shown at the bottom. As needed, go to File > Export Results to save the list to CSV, which can be opened in Excel.

Note the Report Generator is only available for SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional and does require user permission to use.
