3DEXPERIENCE World 2025 has come to a close and what a week we had in Houston! Let’s recap some of the key messages and announcements we heard during this year’s event. 2025 is a significant year for SOLIDWORKS as it marks 30 years since its initial release. This milestone was a common theme throughout the week – celebrating SOLIDWORKS for where it has brought us and being excited about the growth and future of the CAD tool we know and love.
A common question I hear from 3DEXPERIENCE users is, “How can I see if a part or an assembly has any associated drawings?” Turns out there are many ways to get this information. In this blog, I’ll start with some simple methods and then move on to some that take a little more setup but are worth the effort.
If you’ve added a new license of SOLIDWORKS since July 1st, 2023, you’ve probably noticed that your SOLIDWORKS license also contains Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS. This license connects your SOLIDWORKS to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A major benefit of the role is the ability to share SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, and drawings with other users without sharing the physical files or downloading large and complicated external software. The only requirement is a 3DEXPERIENCE ID login.
It is important to know what happens to SOLIDWORKS data when it is saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform or when it is updated for compatibility with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as per the System Option > 3DEXPERIENCE Integration.
3DEXPERIENCE World 2025 is heading to Houston, TX, from February 23-26, and we are excited to be a part of it! As always, GoEngineer will host a Customer Appreciation Night and offer a variety of technical sessions led by our outstanding technical team. There will be many opportunities to learn, network, and have a great time. This guide will provide a brief preview of this year's event and give you a glimpse of what to expect.
When 3DEXPERIENCE users face connection issues while launching Design with SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Connected, it is often due to a connection issue with the collaborative space. Common signs include blank login dialogs, blank MySession task pane, and specific error messages such as, ‘Unable to connect to 3DEXPERIENCE’ or ‘Failed to establish connection with 3DEXPERIENCE server.’ This article covers a few possible ways to resolve these connection issues.
Many companies move from CATIA V5 to 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA because of its powerful collaborative features, cloud database, and live updates. In this article, we review some helpful tips when transitioning to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and highlight features that will make your life as a designer easier.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform sees many updates and enhancements throughout the year - typically every two months with a "Function Delivery" (FD) release. One of these, 2024 FD3.0, happened in early July, and it added a great new feature for SOLIDWORKS users who are taking advantage of the cloud data management benefits of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
A Red Line Markup is an annotation on an image or view of your item that identifies a non-conformity that needs to be passed on to relevant individuals to be corrected. This could be an error, a design revision, or an area that needs to be reviewed. In the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, there are two types of Red Line Markups: simple and advanced.
