Temporary pattern for hollow composite parts
ST-130 material was designed to be used exclusively in sacrificial tooling applications where the ‘tool’ is simply washed away at the end of the forming or curing process. The chemistry of this material is based on the formulation Stratasys uses for its patented soluble support process that dissolves support structures away after printing but it is specifically tuned for dimensional accuracy and excellent surface finish. It can be used in composite layup applications seeing cure temperatures up to 250°F as well as many other applications that would otherwise trap a traditional mandrel or require a collapsible core built in many different pieces.
