SOLIDWORKS and CATIA are both world-class CAD solutions with their own strengths. It is possible to leverage them both in the same product with fully integrated, seamless product structure and PLM.

The GoEngineer team shows how the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform makes this possible in an advanced surfacing use case. Here, we'll design a boat hull using both of the traditional CAD tools. Tim kicks us off by creating the basic boat structure in 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA. 

Next, Todd takes over and loads Tim's boat into SOLIDWORKS so he can design the trailer that will carry the boat. This collaborative workflow lets both CAD tools do what they're best at and the designers can focus on their work.
