The year's largest SOLIDWORKS event has come to a close! What did you miss at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2024? Here's our recap of the notable announcements, highlights, and stories from this year's event in Dallas.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1
The focus of this year's discussion was The Future of Design. How are SOLIDWORKS and Dassault Systèmes solutions adapting to an increasingly fast-paced and connected world? Presenters showcased advanced Cloud solutions on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform that bring together the power of modeling, simulation, and AI. Bernard Charlès, Executive Chairman of Dassault Systèmes, highlighted the generative design programs DS has been perfecting for over 10 years, the 3rd generation of those engines will power 'Magic SOLIDWORKS' and create AI-based generative design interfaces.
Dr. Lonnie Johnson, Inventor of the Super Soaker Watergun, delivered the Day 1 keynote and shared his journey to becoming an engineer. Johnson faced educational barriers as a young black man in academia in the 1970s, but followed his passion for invention and holds over 100 patents to his name.
Cadence and Dassault Systèmes announce a powerful ECAD / MCAD partnership
Cadence Design Systems and Dassault Systèmes announced their strategic partnership to include enhanced integration of OrCAD X and Allegro X with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and SOLIDWORKS.

GoENGINEER Customer Party
We had a fantastic time catching up with customers at the annual GoEngineer Customer Appreciation Party! More than 350 of our valued partners and customers dropped in to enjoy live music, lively games, and great conversation.

Day 2
AI has been a giant topic of conversation this year and Manish Kumar, CEO of SOLIDWORKS, assured us that our go-to 3D CAD software won't be left behind in the AI revolution. Manish showcased exciting features using artificial intelligence that are in development for future releases:

- Predictive Command Panel: A smoother design experience with a command panel that predicts and displays.
- Image to Sketch: Import a photo of an object to generate a sketch of that object automatically.
The reason artificial intelligence has been such a large topic of conversation is that it accelerates our ability to solve problems. As such, we also heard from a few 3DEXPERIENCE customers about the problems they're solving with the help of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform:

- EndiaTX is designing the next generation of stomach cancer diagnosis technology with their PillBot. PillBot makes endoscopy faster and more accessible, leading to earlier diagnosis and a greater chance of survival.
- Tigoona is developing more efficient carts for the street vendors of India. There are over 10 million vendors and the goal of Tigoona is to build a cart that is three times safer, three times easier to use, and three times more effective.
Aneesa Muthana, CEO and Co-Owner of Pioneer Service Inc. and M&M Quality Grinding delivered a keynote address on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the engineering and manufacturing sphere. As a Muslim woman and machine shop owner, Aneesa shared her perspective on how DEI can be a powerful force of innovation.

Day 3
Day 3 was all about shaping the future. Suchit Jain, VP of Strategy and Business Development at SOLIDWORKS kicked off the day by introducing the students to the audience and making sure they received a warm welcome. Then, we heard from a few innovators who are using SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to further education-based initiatives:

- Ian Roy graduated from Brandeis University in 2005 and has since returned to his school to shape their engineering department. Being a primarily liberal arts school, Ian wanted to create a program where the engineering students and the art students work side-by-side to create something special. With his help, they've instituted a 24-hour hackathon where they work on projects specifically for non-profits.
- 2-Bit Circus has presented at 3DEXPERIENCE World before, but this year, they unveiled a new project they've been working on. During Day 3, they launched their open-source arcade game that's available to anyone. With these CAD drawings and programs, anyone - students in particular - can program their own arcade cabinet, set it up anywhere they want to, and earn a passive income.
Finally, we heard from Paddy Lowe, a Formula 1 legend and passionate engineer. He spoke about his experiences with F1 and his work with his newest project, Zero Petroleum. Their goal is to make synthetic versions of traditionally unrenewable fossil fuels.
He said that while many products are going electric, some will never be able to make the full transition. Specifically, he mentioned airplanes, Formula 1 cars, and other large machines that require a very dense energy source will struggle to become fully electric. By engineering a more sustainable way to power these machines, we can create a future where we never have to sacrifice our power because of a lack of renewable energy.
Many innovative companies using Dassault Systèmes solutions were showcased on the main stage, and in breakout sessions throughout the event, even some GoEngineer customers! Here are a few of our favorite showcased success stories:
InoVONICS: CST StuDIO SUITE
Mark Zakhem, a senior hardware engineer at wireless solution provider Inovonics, made the enterprising step to introduce on-cloud electromagnetic simulation into their design process. The results were phenomenal: remarkable time savings in R&D, and an optimized workflow facilitating remote design engineering.

WIlson Case
Wilson Case, a leading shipping case manufacturer, made targeted product performance enhancements and reduced manufacturing costs due to overdesign by integrating 3DEXPERIENCE STRUCTURAL simulation tools into their SOLIDWORKS design process.
