Artec 3D has done it again. On the heels of the new and improved Artec Spider II comes the Artec Point - their first handheld blue laser scanner.
Best known for structured light 3D scanners, delivering incredible color depth and texture quality without targets, the existing line of Artec handheld scanners produce digital copies of physical parts accurate to within 0.05mm. Until now, sub-50 micron accuracy was reserved for static scanners, like the Artec Micro II. The blue laser technology in Artec Point adds compelling capabilities in the same handheld form factor.

Ideally suited to inspection and metrology applications, the Artec Point is ISO 17025 certified, boasting 0.02mm accuracy at 120 fps. Three scanning modes allow quick toggling between Ultra-fast scanning for large areas, Hyper-fine scanning for textures and text, and Deep Hole scanning for hard to hard-to-reach grooves or holes. Artec Studio also includes a toggle for Dark or Shiny surfaces, adjusting the capture algorithm to address these otherwise challenging part scenarios.
