CAMWorks FNO Standalone License Activation/Renewal

Article by Krystal Petersen on Sep 24, 2024

CAMWorks recently updated its licensing scheme to manage the activation process through an FNO (Flex Net Online) activation key, similar to SOLIDWORKS' online activation. Now, users can simply send the request over the Internet for the activation to take place, eliminating the need to create a license file, send it in, and wait for a response.

Standalone/Nodelocked License Activation

Start the CAMWorks License Manager from the Windows Start menu as administrator.

From the License Setup tab, Online Activations should be the opened tab.

Select the Activate License button.

For machines that are not in an internet-free room, select the top option.

(For clean rooms that can remove a file, use the manual activation option.)

Manual Activation

If you're in an area without internet access, as long as you can take a file from one machine to another, you can use the manual method. The process starts the same as the online activation process.

Start the CAMWorks License Manager from the Windows Start menu as administrator.

From the License Setup tab, Online Activations should be the opened tab.

Renewing the Current License

This process is the same as your activation and can be done either manually or over the Internet. The only difference is that you'll select Reactivate Existing instead of Activate License.

How to Reactivate an Existing CAMWorks License

Select the products you want to reactivate and determine how you’ll reactivate them (either manually or over the Internet). Check the check box and select Reactivate My Product(s). The software then reaches out over the internet (if done online) or creates a file for you to mail in.
