Abaqus: Introduction to Abaqus / CAE
This course is intended to complement the Introduction to Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit course.

- CLASSROOM LENGTH: 2 days
- INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE LENGTH: 4 days
PREREQUISITES: Intended for new Abaqus/CAE users. Some familiarity with interactive preprocessors is helpful but not required.
DESCRIPTION: Abaqus/CAE provides a complete interactive environment for creating Abaqus models, submitting and monitoring analysis jobs and viewing and manipulating simulation results. This course is intended to complement the Introduction to Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit course, which describes how to perform linear and nonlinear analyses with Abaqus.

Lesson 1:
Overview - Introduction to Abaqus-CAE
- This component provides an overview on the course topics, agenda, prerequisites and workshop files.
Lesson 2:
Introducing Abaqus-CAE
- Talks about what Abaqus/CAE is and why favored over other tools
Lesson 3:
Working with Geometry in Abaqus/CAE
- This section talks about geometry and repair and clean up
Lesson 4:
Working with Models Created Outside Abaqus
- This section shows how to work with orphan meshes and models that have not been created in Abaqus/CAE.
Lesson 5:
Material Properties and Assemblies
- Learn how to create material and section properties in Abaqus/CAE
Lesson 6:
Steps, Interactions, and Loads
- Learn how to create and modify Steps, interactions and different loads applied in an Abaqus model
Lesson 7:
Meshing
- Teaches how to create and review mesh to obtain accurate results.
Lesson 8:
Job Management and Results Visualization
- Learn how to submit analysis from Abaqus/CAE and review the results in the Visualization module.
