PREREQUISITES: CATIA V5 Fundamentals and Surface Design
DESCRIPTION: This course will teach you how to create flawless, styled shapes from scratch using three-dimensional free-form curves and surfaces or using digitized data. You will also learn how to analyze and improve the quality of existing curves and surfaces.
LESSON PLAN
Lesson 1:
Course Requisites: CATIA FreeStyle Shape Design Essentials
- This module includes the conventions and environment details for the course content.
Lesson 2:
Introduction to FreeStyle Shape Design
- In this module, you will be introduced to the user interface and the various tools of the FreeStyle Shaper workbench.
Lesson 3:
Using the Curve-based Approach
- In this module, you will learn how to create curves. You will also learn how to create surfaces from curves.
Lesson 4:
Using the Surface Based Approach
- In this module, you will learn about the surface-based approach.
- You will also learn how to create and modify surfaces.
Lesson 5:
Analyzing Curves and Surfaces
- In this module, you will learn how to analyze curves and surfaces.
- Here, you will also learn how to analyze the CATPart structures.
Lesson 6:
Master Exercise: Automotive Car
- In this exercise, you will design a car from its sketch using a curve-based approach and then create surfaces from it.
- You will also learn to modify the input curves, by associativity.
Lesson 7:
Master Exercise: Hair Dryer
- In this exercise, you will learn how to design a new model of Hair Dryer from scratch using the surface-based approach.
