DESCRIPTION:  This course will teach you how to design mechanisms using an existing assembly. You will also learn how to simulate and analyze the mechanisms for clashes and perform kinematic analysis.

Lesson 1: 
Course Requisites: DMU Kinematics Simulator

  • This module includes the conventions and licensing details for the course content.

Lesson 2: 
Overview of DMU Kinematics

  • This module introduces us to the Kinematics Workbench and the general process of mechanism design.

Lesson 3: 
Creating Joints

  • This module describes the various types of joints that can be created and the process for their creation.

Lesson 4: 
Simulating Mechanisms

  • This module describes the steps involved in simulating a mechanism using laws and commands.

Lesson 5: 
Analyzing Movements

  • This module describes how to analyze the movements of a mechanism to measure speed and acceleration, generate traces, swept volume, checking joint limits and clashes.

Lesson 6: 
Recording and Playing Simulations

  • In this module you will learn how to record simulations and play them.

Lesson 7: 
Miscellaneous Functionalities

  • This module describes various functionalities like converting assembly constraints into joints, working with mechanism dressup and importing mechanisms and dressups.

Lesson 8: 
Master Exercise: Elliptical Trainer

  • This module contains a master exercise for your practice.
