Whether you're using drawings or Model Based Definition, SOLIDWORKS 2025 can help you document your designs faster than ever.
SOLIDWORKS MBD tells us graphically which features of a part are fully-constrained, under-constrained, over-constrained, or don’t have any constraints. It does so by applying specific colors to the model itself as well as to the design tree. This helps check a model to see if it’s ready to be manufactured.
The SOLIDWORKS Model Based Definition (MBD) add-in includes the capability to generate 3D PDFs of parts and assemblies created in SOLIDWORKS. 3D PDFs can be opened with the standard, free Adobe Reader program and contain 3D Views and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI).
To install and use a commercial edition or educational edition of SOLIDWORKS MBD, you must have a SOLIDWORKS MBD standalone serial number. You cannot add SOLIDWORKS MBD licenses to an existing SOLIDWORKS serial number.
