It is recommended before moving or upgrading SOLIDWORKS PCB Services that a backup of the PCB Services repositories database is created. This articles explains how to create a backup of the SOLIDWORKS PCB services repositories database. This backup can then be used to restore PCB services or move it to a new server location.

When a SOLIDWORKS model or drawing is saved as a PDF, the image quality can decrease. This can be frustrating for some SOLIDWORKS users because saving to a PDF is a great way for non-SOLIDWORKS users to view a drawing or model. Luckily, there are some simple changes we can make when saving to a PDF that will improve the image quality of a drawing or model. 

 

When working with configured parts inside of SOLIDWORKS, adding more configurations to the original part will make your file size grow too. This can be frustrating because the larger the file size is, the more time it takes to open, save, and rebuild a part. Good news, though. There is a way to bring a file size back down to almost the original file size before any configurations were created. 

SOLIDWORKS 2016 introduced a new icon into the standard Sketch toolbar in the CommandManager. This new icon is the Instant2D feature and is turned on when the standard SOLIDWORKS part template is used.
