PDM workflow transition notifications are quite useful in notifying the next approver that they have files that are awaiting their approval. They only take a few minutes to set up and can be tied to groups, so a change in the group members will update who gets notified when a file is submitted for approval. Additionally, by making the notifications dynamic, the recipients can be specified when the file is submitted for approval.
In this video, I demonstrate how to create a simple folder notification. A folder notification will be triggered when a file goes through the transition with the folder notification – if the file is in the specified folder. The default is to specify the root level of the PDM vault, so all files going through this transition will trigger the notification.
