Swept cut is a very common feature in SOLIDWORKS. It grants more functionality than the standard extruded cut, like using a solid profile as a cutting tool. With increasing complexity in the path and/or profile, results may not turn out the way that you want. In this video, you’ll see one example of this where the default settings for a tool sweep don’t give the correct result. This can be a critical obstacle to overcome especially when modeling parts that will be produced on multi-axis machines. Check out this video to get a better idea of just how powerful the sweep cut feature is!
