massive 3d printed drone

The design for this 3D Printed Drone frame was built entirely in SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD and then loaded into GrabCad Print to prep for sending to the Stratasys F770 3D printer. We equipped this massive 3D printed drone with a two-camera system. To ensure proper flight we added 7” propellers that were powered by a 5200 mAh lithium battery. This gave the 3D printed drone a lift capacity of over 10 Kg, with a final weight of approximately 800g without the battery and 1700g with the battery.

The usage of 3D printing allowed us to not only customize the size, look and design of the drone frame, but also the ability to engineer the quadcopter with our desired components for optimal flight. We purchased the components from Amazon and assembled the quadcopter within a day.
