In this video I show how to use long range point-cloud data with Geomagic Design X. The data was created with an Artec long range scanner, controlled by an iPAD and the Artec Studio Remote App. This makes the system very portable as you do not need to be tethered to a computer. I show import options like point sampling, whether or not to bring in color information, etc. Once the multiple scans are imported, they need to be aligned to each other. After aligning, combining the data into a single dataset, the modeling of the data can begin. The Mesh Sketch Tool on the point-cloud is predominant in this workflow. I mention the option of triangulating the point-cloud into a mesh for using additional mesh tools found in the software.
