From Start to Part: Cast Concrete and PolyJet 3D Printed Award

At GoEngineer we provide the best-in-class design and manufacturing technology that empowers engineers to do their best work. Our favorite work perk? Having those very tools at our disposal to take our own projects to the next level.

Tyler’s latest design prompt: design an award to celebrate coworkers’ achievement. Designed in SOLIDWORKS, the model features a PolyJet name plate affixed to a concrete temple. Creating the temple portion required its own small scale casting workflow.

Starting with a pattern printed on the Origin One Resin 3D printer for superior surface finish, and a mold housing printed on and industrial FDM F370 3D printer. This process is a powerful illustration of the creative freedom afforded with access to the right design and engineering solutions.
