Fund SOLIDWORKS Training with the Pennsylvania WEDnetPA Grant

Article by Helen Lindamood on Jan 09, 2024

Pennsylvania’s WEDnetPA Program gives companies the chance to improve the SOLIDWORKS skill level of their employees for free with available grant funds. Businesses in the program are reimbursed up to $2,000 per employee to cover the cost of eligible training courses, such as GoEngineer SOLIDWORKS Training.

What is THE WEDnetPA?

The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) is an alliance of educational providers in Pennsylvania, including universities, community colleges, and other educational institutions. Businesses in Pennsylvania collaborate with WEDnetPA partners to obtain workforce training grants, which help them better prepare their staff and become more competitive.

Since WEDnetPA was founded in 1999, more than 20,000 Pennsylvanian companies and over 1,200,000 employees have used WEDnetPA job training to increase worker skill levels and boost industry competitiveness.

How does the WEDnetPA Grant work?

  • Eligible companies can receive training funds up to $2,000 per eligible employee, with a maximum of $100,000 per company.
  • Training can be provided by any private-sector trainer, WEDnetPA partner, or qualified in-house staff, either in a classroom or online.
  • Businesses eligible for WEDnetPA are located in Pennsylvania, in a WEDnetPA eligible industry, and are commercial or industrial in nature.
  • Employees eligible for training are PA residents working full-time with eligibility for benefits in PA, earning at least $12.00 per hour before benefits.
  • Businesses can apply for training funds online through the WEDnetPA partnership, which includes State System universities, community colleges, and other educational providers.

How can I use the WEDnetPA Program to Cover SOLIDWORKS Training Expenses?

  1. Confirm Eligibility - Ensure your company and employees are eligible to enroll in the program. Requirements are listed below, and on the WEDnetPA website.
  2. Apply - Apply online by submitting a Training Inquiry Form. Provide company, employee, and contact information, and select a WEDnetPA partner. This local educational institution will assign a workforce development professional that will serve as a single point of contact to assist you throughout the program processes. Once eligibility is confirmed, a WEDnetPA representative will contact you for additional application information. When your application is approved, you will receive an award letter and you can enroll in training.
  3. Train - Purchase and enroll in the approved training program.
  4. Invoice - When training is complete, submit documentation for reimbursement.
