Creaform has done it again with another great product launched into their portfolio: the HandySCAN 3D|MAX Series. This new scanner focuses on scanning large parts fast without sacrificing accuracy. In this blog, we also cover some updates to the new Creaform Customer Care Packages.
The HandySCAN Max is available in two versions.
The HandySCAN Max Elite is the top-tier model, appropriate for those looking to inspect large parts.
The HandySCAN Max is a budget-friendly option, appropriate for those looking to get great scans of large parts but who don’t need high accuracy.
Both versions have a colossal scanning area, with 38 lasers projecting over an area of 1m2 or 2m2 (depending on scanning mode).
The biggest development of the HandySCAN MAX 3D scanner is its depth of field. This scanner can capture point information about the surface from 2.2 meters away! For scale, one could hold this scanner above Shaquille O'Neal, and still capture the floor!
Accuracy is also in line with the quality we have come to expect with Creaform’s other products.
Point accuracy for the HandySCAN Max Elite is 0.0030” and the volumetric accuracy is 0.0039 in + 0.00032 in/ft. Considering these accuracies are held over parts sized between 3.3 ft and 32.8 ft, this is quite a powerful system. Additionally, even though the scanner looks large, it is very ergonomic, weighing only 2.7 lbs, allowing users to scan large parts all day without fatigue.
Creaform Care Program Updates
Creaform also recently announced a redesign of their Creaform Care Program. For all Creaform Customer Program plans, annual hardware calibrations are now included as standard. If you need any adjustments during the calibration, that is an optional extra you can choose to include, and the same is the case for certified calibration adjustments.
Additional options include hassle-free shipping to and from a facility for calibrations and repairs. Loaner units are also available for scanners that require extended maintenance or repairs.
