Over the last several years, a few notebook computer vendors have started providing workstation level notebooks that can handle the high resource demands of SolidWorks and COSMOS.  One of the primary limitations of earlier laptops or "office" laptops was graphics support for OpenGL.  The following list of notebook computers incorporate 3D CAD specific, SolidWorks certified, OpenGL graphics cards and are suitable for light, moderate and even moderately heavy use of SolidWorks and COSMOS.

 

Remember that it is critical that you verify the notebook computer you purchase has a graphics card that is supported by SolidWorks.
